Programs

The Giles County Sheriff's Office strives to provide programs and services that benefit Giles County citizens.  Look over the following services and use the corresponding contact information to learn more.

Code Red-  The Code Red system allows emergency dispatchers to get information to thousands of citizens in minutes.  Code Red can be used to give information on natural disasters, hazardous materials spills or leaks, urgent criminal activity, and any other event where the immediate safety of the public is in danger.

Project Lifesaver-  Project Lifesaver gives peace of mind to caregivers and loved ones of those affected with illnesses that cause them to wander. .Citizens enrolled in Project Lifesaver wear a small personal transmitter around the wrist or ankle that emits an individualized tracking signal. If an enrolled client goes missing, the caregiver notifies their local Project Lifesaver agency, and a trained emergency team responds to the wanderer’s area. Most who wander are found within a few miles from home, and search times have been reduced from hours and days to minutes. Recovery times for PLI clients average 30 minutes — 95% less time than standard operations.  The program is free for Giles County citizens, but you must sign up.  Please email John Davis at the address below for more information.
